Atenea IX and her Relatives
by Donna DeYoung, Pure Spanish (PRE) Andalusian Horse Breeder
Atenea IX (Jardinero V x Decorosa IV) is the dam of
Nobleza D. Atenea is a half-sister to the grey mare Alhambra VIII (Jardinero
V x Coralina II). Both Atenea and Alhambra were imported in-utero by
Denham Ranch. Alhambra's dam - Coralina III, is a granddauther
of Maluso (grandsire of Leviton). Atenea's sire Jardinero V was
the double grandsire of Genio III.
Genio III, is very famous in the Andalusian world. Genio stands
16.3 hands and is the sire of multiple purebred and half-Andalusian IALHA
champions. Genio is an approved breeding stallion for the Spanish Cria Caballar,
the American Oldenburger Stud Book, the American Warmblood Society, the Spanish
Norman Registery and the Rheinland-Pfalz-Saar. Genio is primarily of Bocado
bloodlines and is a double grandson of Jardinero V. His stud fee is $5,000.
"He has a long elegant neck rising high out of his wide, muscular chest and he
looks at you with beautiful, perfect triangular eyes. His coat is fine, shiny
and always silky to touch. He is a fabulous stallion, proven to stamp himself on
his foals over and over again. Genio has made a mark for himself on Spanish
horses being bred here in the United States, and his fame is spreading. Genio is
the first U.S. Andalusian stallion, that we know of, to have one of his American
born offspring exported to Europe, for breeding purposes. Limited bookings by
private treaty for select Andalusian mares." ~ JDon Website Reference
