Baones Bloodlines from Spain

by Donna DeYoung, Pure Spanish (PRE) Andalusian Horse Breeder

Introduction to Yeguada Herederos de Don Fernando Baones Gonzales

Don Fernando Baones Martín was a military doctor who established a Spanish farm with Pure Spanish Andalusian horses in 1890. When Don Fernando died, the horse farm was taken over by his two sons Fernando and Misael Baones Bolaños.

The farm passed down through the family and was split in 1996 into Fernando Baones Gonzalez and Misael Baones Gonzales (renamed to Yeguada Herederos de Don Fernando Baones Gonzales in 1998).

Lebrero 1934, a bay Spanish stallion sired by Bilbaino and out of the bay mare Cantinera IV, traces to Keberes D aka "Leia" through her sire line. Lebrero 1934 traces to Nobleza D through both her sire and dam line. Lebrero sired the famous military stallion Maluso 1949 who led to the “number one” Military stallion Leviton.

Cantinera II and her daughter Cantinera IV born in 1927, trace to both Keberes and Nobleza through Lebrero 1934. Cantinera IV’s sire, a bay named Rey VII born in 1917, goes back to Aquilito 2°, a Pedro Domecq stallion.

Bilbaino II, a son of Bilbaino and out of Cantinera IV, traces to both Keberes and Nobleza through Leviton’s dam line.
